Graftel ILRT Services Presentation

ILRT Systems and Services

Graftel is a supplier of ILRT and LLRT testing instrumentation as well as a consultant to the Nuclear Power industry. Graftel's ILRT smart sensors have been in use in the U.S. since 1993 and have proven to decrease set up and test duration as well as minimize the amount of cabling and penetrations required. Graftel not only does complete testing services but also manufactures, services and calibrates all required instrumentation.

ILRT Procedure Reviews and Updates
Review plant procedures against 10CFR 50, App. J, ANS 56.8-1994, plant technical specifications, and plant flow diagrams/drawings.

ILRT Setup and Performance Support
This service includes:

Final ILRT Test Report Preparation
The final report is prepared in accordance with ANS 56.8-1994. This report includes all analysis, results, report data and graphs. For further information as to how Graftel can help you, please feel free to call or email us with your questions.

ILRT Systems

Smart Sensors allow for the measurement of pressure, temperature and relative humidity, (RH) during an ILRT without the aid of a data acquisition system. Each compact sensor contains its own CPU, memory, signal conditioning, and RS-485 bus interface.

The RS-485 network allows for multiple sensors to be connected to a PC's communications port with a single 4-wire cable string. A typical string has five temperature sensors and two humidity sensors. Although the sensors are physically connected in series, they are electrically connected in parallel so that the failure of any one will not affect the others.

The advantages of such a system over conventional systems are:

Humidity and Temperature Sensors

Model 9203 Humidity Sensor
The Model 9203 sensor is designed for the measurement of relative humidity, (RH) inside of primary containment during an ILRT. These RH sensors utilize a temperature compensated bulk polymer chip. For more information, please feel free to either call or email us for more details.

This specific transducer was chosen for the lack of data scatter in its readings. Also, these transducers have a history of meeting specifications in post calibrations following their use in handheld RH meters. Extensive environmental testing has been performed to demonstrate the transducer's stability and accuracy under field conditions. This includes subjecting the sensing element to common chemical agents, as well as extremes in temperature, pressure and humidity.

Model 9202 Temperature Sensor
The Model 9202 sensor is designed for the measurement of temperature inside of primary reactor containment during an ILRT. These sensors utilize thermistors. The thermistors are glass hermetic encapsulated and subjected to 100% individual in-process screening.

The sensor's accuracy specification of 0.5°F is based upon the requirements listed in ANSI/ANS-56.8-1994. Typical sensor accuracy's range between 0.1 and 0.15°F. They are often less than 0.1°F. A tighter accuracy specification is available upon customer request.
